What type of wax melt burner can I use?
You can use a tealight or electric burner.
Tealight Burner: For optimum performance, we recommend a burner that is 11-13cm height. This prevents the wax melt from overheating, as the tealight flame is correctly distances from the burner dish. Correctly sized burners maximise fragrance quality and scent throw longevity.
Electric Burner: A wattage of around 25-35W is ideal. Anything less than this may result in the wax melt not heating up enough to distribute the fragrance effectively. Too hot, you may find your wax melt doesn't last as long as expected.
How long do your wax melts last?
Each scent within our soy wax melt range is meticulously tested to meet the standards our customers have come to expect. We use the same pouring methods, moulds and timings for every single scent.
You can expect our soy wax melts to last approximately 12 hours per square (depending on burner set up). Each box contains 6 soy wax melt squares, totalling ~72 hours of burn time per box.
What size tealights should I use?
You should only ever use shallow, 4 hour tea lights. Using larger tealights might seem a smart idea (more heat, less swapping over), but it's highly likely that you'll burn through the fragrance too quickly, resulting in only a few hours of usage per wax melt. You may also experience an unwanted smell, which indicates the wax is burning.
Furthermore, tealight burners are designed to work with a moderate heat and so overheating a burner can become unsafe.
If using the same scent, can I add a new wax melt to the burner without removing the old one?
No, we don't recommend doing this, as you will dilute the strength of the fragrance. Once your wax melt has used up the fragrance (after around 12 hours of usage you're effectively left with plain soy wax. Adding a new wax melt to this will halve the strength.
Always remove the used wax melt first, but only once the wax has set and the burner has cooled. Wipe with a damp cloth, ensure the dish is completely dry and add your next wax melt.
I use my wax melts quite irregularly, how long do they store for?
In their original packaging and kept in a cool, dark place, our wax melts can be comfortably stored for around 12 months. As we use a natural soy wax, you may find overtime that some frosting occurs, but this doesn't affect the performance of the wax melt.
